This year was my first time at IAA in Frankfurt on Main. I think, also the last one for couple of years. The exhibition was really impressive, but they showed there cars of the future, so no need to go there next years.
Mercedes hall was very nice. They even gave visitors glass of water – cheap for Benz but helpful for tired visitors.
Porsche did not let visitors to the cars – I was bit disappointed because of it.
Opel was slightly boring.
BMW hall was also large but there were too many people there, so that one wants to get out right after coming in – unfortunately it was not possible because BMW hall was a one way road.
Anecdote:
A reporter (R) takes interview in the BMW hall with a woman (W) :
R: Which car do you drive?
W: I don’t have a car now …
R (expecting to hear the answer “BMW”): But still, if you would buy a car (if money would not play a role etc.) , which car would you buy?
W (bit embarrassed): I’m sorry, the car is not in this hall
R (bit disappointed): Which one would it be?
W : It’s Mercedes SLK
All the visitors: Loud laughter and approving applause.
